UK counterterrorism police have arrested two Latvian men after they broke into RAF Molesworth, a British military base used as an intelligence hub by the US military and NATO forces. The men, aged 36 and 32, were apprehended inside the perimeter of the base after a breach of the perimeter fence was identified.

They were initially arrested on suspicion of trespass, and police say nothing so far suggests the incident is linked to events surrounding RAF Fairford last month. The base is home to the US's intelligence operations centers and serves as a NATO intelligence hub.

The two men are being held on suspicion of trespass. Counterterrorism police said the men were arrested at about 02:00 BST while they were inside the perimeter.
